Family Clothing Swap

On March 31st, 2017, the MOMS Club of Bellevue hosted a family clothing swap open to all of the Bellevue community. The club collected donations leading up to and during the swap and then anyone was able to take whatever they needed home for free!
We had a very good turnout and received positive feedback from the donators and shoppers! Thank you to all of those who donated items, shared news of the event, and helped/participated on the day of the event. We are excited that we were able to serve the community and also donated 17 bags/boxes of clothes and shoes to the Nashville Rescue Mission.

March 2017

March’s Social Meeting was a huge success as we came in our PJs and made pancakes topped with strawberries, syrup, powered sugar, bananas, or apples. We think we will have to repeat this activity in the future. The kids enjoyed running around and making new friends while hyped up on syrup. The moms enjoyed a being able to sit down, enjoy pancakes, and socialize with each other. Making new friends over pancakes is always a good thing.

The MOMS Club of Bellevue is excited to sponsor a Family Clothing Swap! This FREE event is a great way to band together as a community and help one another out!

How it works…donate items, get items. Bring as much as you can, leave with as much as you can carry (we just ask that everyone is respectful and courteous of one another).

Don’t have anything to donate? That’s okay, no one will be turned away!

This event is for the whole family! Items to swap include:

Men’s Clothes
Women’s Clothes
Maternity Clothes
Kid’s Clothes
Baby Clothes
Shoes of any size

All donated items must be clean, without holes (other than seams that can be easily fixed), and have no bad stains on them. We kindly ask that you bring your donations pre-sorted so that our volunteers can easily put them out in the event.

There will be a few pre-event donation times where you can come and drop off your donations.

All items leftover at the end of the event will be donated to local Nashville organizations to help those in need!

February 2017

February we celebrated the month of love with a Valentine’s Day party and let the kids express their creativity in making their own Valentine’s Day boxes and exchanging cards. I think the kids’ favorite part was placing the cards in each other’s boxes. Here are a few of the kids’ boxes! Come join us for our Monthly Social and make new mom friends and learn what the MOMS Club has to offer!

December 2016 and January 2017

December brought 2016 to a close with hosting Santa for our monthly social. Some kids loved him and others were hesitant. Santa enjoyed some cookies and entertained questions about reindeer, the North Pole, and Mrs. Claus. The kids enjoyed making ornaments to hang on their trees.

We welcomed in the New Year in January with an International Potluck to celebrate the diversity of food and parenting techniques. The food was a huge hit with the mothers and the kids all found something they liked! Win for expanding the kiddos food palate!

MOMS Club of Bellevue was excited to donate $400 worth of toys to the Community Center bought with funds from the Fall Bake sale and some toys donated from local moms. Thank you to all of the MOMS Club of Bellevue members and local community members who helped to make this possible!

October and November 2016

During October, we visited the pumpkin patch at Gentry Farms and did some Trick or Treating at the Meadows Nursing Home. The residents at the Meadows loved seeing all the kids in costumes and handing out candy. We hosted the Armstrong Animal Adventures for a community event at the Bellevue library and let the kids learn a little about some exotic animals. The kids’ favorite was “Speedy” the tortoise.

In November, we celebrated Thanksgiving at our monthly social and enjoyed some wonderful home cooked food. The kids made adorable turkeys! To support our community we collected dry goods and food for the Bellevue Second Harvest Food Bank.Transparent_Happy_Turkey_Day_Clipart

August and September 2016

The Bellevue MOMS Club had a very busy summer and a great start to fall. We welcomed a new board for 2016-2017.

In August, we welcomed the kids back to school and for the monthly social we let the kids explore what they wanted to be “when they grow up.” The kids had a blast playing dress up and getting to act the parts of their future careers. We also hosted a community event with a local magician, Tim Friday. He was a huge hit and we had a wonderful turnout. The kids loved all the magic tricks and the balloon animals.

In September, we celebrated the Olympics and had our own baby, kid, and mom competitions. Beanbag toss, Frisbee long distance throwing, and marshmallow distance spitting were all big hits. We had a bake sale fundraiser that was a great success and raised $400 for the Bellevue Community Center to replace broken toys!

May is for Mommas

On May 3rd we had our monthly social where we talked, played and enjoyed a beautiful day at the park.  All of the Moms who attended, both members and local moms alike, also enjoyed participating in a drawing, where names were pulled to receive gifts.  The gifts were from local businesses who donated lovely items.  Hopefully all of the Moms that attended know how much they are appreciated.  We love our Moms and our local businesses!
